Medicare Billing Specialist

Our company is growing, and we are looking to add a dynamic, experienced Medical Billing Specialist to our team in our corporate office in Bridgewater, NJ. Preference will be given to collectors, preferably who have experience in multi-specialty orthopedics such as Chiropractic, PT, Acupuncture, Interventional Pain, OT and/or Orthopedic Surgery.

Excellent customer service skills for communicating with patients and other medical providers is essential.

Position Qualifications:

• 1-2 yrs. Medical Billing experience. Physical Therapy, orthopedics or rehab settings are preferred.
• Experience - Demonstrate High level of Insurance Knowledge/ Insurance Follow-up.
• Ability to effectively use Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Excellent verbal and communication skills.

• Excellent computer navigation experience

What you will do every day:

• Assist with scrubbing claims in Pending DME Review Status.
• Manage AR follow-up for all DME claims for all payers, including denials, rejections, reimbursement issues, audits, and appeals.
• Review and oversee the ASC schedule and assist with ASC authorizations for procedures.
• Provide backup assistance for the Insurance Verification Representative for all New Patients and React patients.
• Lead specialist for all ASC Insurance Verification for facility claims.
• Assist with DME benefit verifications and authorizations as needed.
• Create Actions and assign them to the appropriate Team member for follow-up.
• Manage re-verifications for all insurance during the beginning of the calendar year and throughout the first quarter for all existing patients.
• Provide support to AR Billing Specialists for AR follow-up for Cigna, Commercial plans, and Medicare secondary and supplemental plans.
• Support the RCM and Billing Team Lead with other Billing duties and tasks as needed.
